The Office of Career Development and Success (CDS) at Rider University seeks an Associate Director to provide direction and supervision for an innovative career services department that provides advising, preparation, resources, and programming to support the professional exploration, readiness and success of undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. The Associate Director will build broad connections across colleges to benefit students and their ability to connect classroom learnings to the world of work including collaborating with the Center for DEI to develop and implement professional development opportunities for all students.
The Associate Director will also:
- oversee the strategic objectives of a comprehensive employer relations program with the objective of maximizing engaged learning opportunities and graduation outcomes, and assess and report on employer outreach, employer partnerships, and alumni programs;
- oversee the planning, production and management of all Career Fairs;
- administer Handshake – Rider’s Career Development platform – and partner with OIT;
- collect, report and analyze graduation outcome data for Rider graduates;
- assume a leadership role in CDS and be an active collaborator across divisions and departments within the Rider University community;
- provide overall departmental support to the Executive Director of CDS and help foster a department of collaboration, inclusion, and respect; and
- demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse student population, and serves as an advocate for that diversity.
Position Requirements
- Master’s degree in Higher Education or another relevant discipline is preferred along with 4-5 years of professional experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage employers, alumni and colleagues.
- Understanding of the higher education enterprise, career development/services initiatives and the needs of students.
- Proficient at research, data collection and analytics.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
